Disable Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot Features in Microsoft 365 Apps

Tenant administrators can control whether Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot features appear within Microsoft 365 apps by adjusting settings in the Microsoft 365 admin center. By disabling this option, organizations can restrict AI-generated content across apps like Outlook and Teams, ensuring compliance and controlled adoption of Copilot features.

What This Setting Controls

Some Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot features run directly within Microsoft 365 apps (like Outlook, Teams, Word) beyond the Sales app itself.

👉 By default:

· These features are enabled

· Users can see Copilot-generated content inside Microsoft 365 apps

👉 This setting allows tenant admins to turn OFF that experience

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Sign in to Admin Center

1. Open:

https://admin.microsoft.com

2. Sign in using:

  • Tenant Admin credentials

Step 2: Navigate to Org Settings

1. In the left navigation, click:

Settings

2. Select:

Org settings

Step 3: Open Copilot Service Settings

1. In the Org settings page, go to:

Services tab

2. Scroll or search for:

Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot

3. Click to open it

Step 4: Disable Copilot in Microsoft 365 Apps

1. Locate the option:

Allow users to see Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot content in Microsoft 365 apps

2. Uncheck / Clear the checkbox

👉 This disables Copilot-generated content in:

  • Outlook
  • Teams
  • Word

Step 5: Save Changes

1. Click:

Save

· This setting controls Copilot features outside the Sales app

· Applies at:
👉 Tenant level (organization-wide)

· Features are:

-Enabled by default

-Can be disabled centrally by admins

When to Disable

Admins may disable this when:

  • Compliance policies require restricted AI usage
  • Organization is not ready for AI rollout
  • Testing or phased deployment is needed

Impact of Disabling

  • Copilot content will not appear in Microsoft 365 apps
  • Core Sales app may still function depending on configuration
  • Users lose:

-AI-generated suggestions

-Embedded Copilot insights

Note: Disabling Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot features stops new email notification banners from appearing on incoming emails. However, banners already shown on existing emails remain visible in users’ inboxes.
